A major milestone for TextureJet
We’re incredibly proud to announce that TextureJet has been awarded a £130,000 Innovate UK grant to accelerate the development of ArcSlice®—our new and disruptive surface-finishing technology platform.
Awarded through Innovate UK’s Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chains: Potential High Growth SMEs competition, the funding will support an intensive nine-month project designed to move ArcSlice another significant step towards commercial deployment.
For our team, this award represents more than project funding. It is a powerful endorsement of our technology, the progress we have already made, and our vision for the future of advanced manufacturing.
Over the coming months, we will further develop, validate, and refine ArcSlice, preparing the technology for evaluation in real-world manufacturing environments.
Why Surface Roughening Matters
Surface roughening might sound like a small detail, yet in advanced manufacturing, it can be anything but.
Effective preparation of polymer and composite surfaces plays an important role in achieving consistent, high-quality manufacturing outcomes. However, conventional surface-finishing processes can be difficult to control, time-consuming, and resource-intensive.
That is where ArcSlice has the potential to make a real difference.
Our patented technology is being developed to prepare polymer and composite surfaces in a more intelligent, controlled, and consistent way. Its unique approach could offer manufacturers a more resource-efficient alternative to traditional surface-treatment methods.
The ambition is clear: to help manufacturers improve process consistency and product quality while reducing waste, processing times, and operational costs.
From a bold idea to real-world potential
This latest award builds on TextureJet’s earlier successes through the UK Space Agency and Midlands Aerospace Alliance’s Pivot into Space programme.
Since then, our team has continued to explore and develop the potential of ArcSlice across industries that increasingly depend on lightweight, high-performance polymer and composite materials.
